Armenia, country of Transcaucasia, lying just south of the great mountain range of the Caucasus and fronting the northwestern extremity of Asia. To the north and east Armenia is bounded by Georgia and Azerbaijan, while its neighbours to the southeast and west are, respectively, Iran and Turkey. Naxcivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, borders Armenia to the southwest. The capital is Yerevan (Erevan).

Climate In Armenia:

Armenia is often described as a sunny country. The climate of Armenia is highland temperate, dry having four seasons. The summer is pleasant and temperature ranges 25°C to 40°C in the Ararat valley.

Winters can be quite cold with minimum -5°C temperatures in Yerevan, and even colder in the Ararat Valley with -30°C temperatures as well as -46°C temperatures in the Lake Arpi area.




Founded in 1920, Yerevan State Medical University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Yerevan. This 98 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students’ past academic record and grades.


St. Theresa Medical University was founded in the year 1992. It is a private medical university which is situated in the city of Yerevan in Armenia. We offer undergraduate medical degrees across a variety of disciplines. Yerevan “Haybusak University” has been founded in 1990. Since 2002 Armenian Government introduced the strategic plan of development of higher education – thesis of integration of Higher Educational Institutions, the purpose of which was raise of education quality and effective development of Higher Educational Institutions. “Haybusak” became a sole non-governmental university around which the following 5 state accredited Higher Educational Institutions of Armenia were integrated.
