Colleges

TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY

Tribhuvan University (TU) which was established in 1959 is the first national institution of higher education in Nepal. Tribhuvan University is a public university in Kritipur, Kathmanudu, Nepal. Tribhuvan University is the oldest University in Nepal and in terms of enrollment, it is the ninth largest university in the world. The university offers 2079 undergraduate and 2,000 postgraduate programs across a wide range of disciplines. As of September 2014, the university has 88 constituent campuses and 1,033 affiliated colleges across the country.

KATHMANDU UNIVERSITY

Kathmandu University is established in 1991. Kathamndu University is an autonomous, not for profit, non-government institution dedicated to maintain high standards of academic excellence. It is committed to develop leaders in professional areas through quality education. Within a period of 21 years, Kathmandu University has built not only reasonable infrastructure, but also established a track record of academic excellence. The University has adopted 1 to 10 teacher-student ratio. However, Kathmandu University is very cautious in recruitment of every single faculty or non-teaching staff. The staff strength at Kathmandu University is 458 for teaching and 725 for non teaching (including Paramedical staff).

B.P. KOIRALA INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences was established on 18th January 1993 and subsequently upgraded as an autonomous Health Sciences University on 28th October 1998. B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has postgraduate, undergraduate and university certificate programs and from this year starting Doctor of Philosophy.

MANIPAL COLLEGE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE

Manipal College of Medical Science was established in 1994. Commencvement of allied health science (BMLT & BMIT) degree programmes in 2001. Increase of the annual intake from 100 to 150 in respect of the undergraduate medical degree program and extension of the postgraduate degree programme to Internal Medicine (MD) in 2005.

KATHMANDU MEDICAL COLLEGE

Kathmandu Medical College was established in 1997 and located in Kathmandu the Capital City of Nepal. Kathmandu Medical College functions from two complexes-Dwakot Basic Sciences and Sinamangal Clinical Sciences. The KMC Teaching Hospital, located within the ring-road and just near the airport, is in a position of easy access.

BIRAT MEDICAL COLLEGE

Birat Medical College is the newest medical school in Nepal and established in 2014 as an extended programme of Kathmandu University. As ofJuly 2014, Birat Medical College, school of Medicine. Their first class of medical students will being their studies this August. NEPALGUNJ MEDICAL COLLEGE

Lord Buddha educational Academy Ltd (LBEA) came to existence with the objective of developing the nation by providing excellence in medical sector. Soon a group of renowned exterprenures and medical professionals, educationalist and social recognized peoples joined hands to fulfill the social obligation, as a result “Nepalgung Medical College” was established. The college started the MBBS course in 1997, Nursing program in 2000 and Postgraduate in 2007.

The college has its own two well equipped teaching hospitals in two main cities of Banke district, 830 bedded Teaching hospitals at Kohlpur and 220 bedded hospitals at Nepalgung.

KIST MEDICAL COLLEGE

KIST Medical College (KISTMC) established in the year 2006. The college is affiliated with the institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University (TU) for the MBBS Course from the year 2008 and for the BDS course from the ear 2011. Both programs are recognized by the Nepal Medical Council. The College runs a 300 bedded hospital equipped with state-of-the- art infrastructure and every modern facility. The college also has well equipped lecture halls, seminar roomds and basic medical science practical laboratories as per the norms of Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

JANKI MEDICAL COLLEGE

Janaki Medical College (JMC) situated in Janakpur, Dhanusha, Nepal has been an initiative of Ram Janaki Health Foundation Pvt. Ltd, to provide health education and healthcare services through its competent professionals in medical academic. Janaki Medical College was founded in December 1999. Teacvhing-learning activities take place in Ramdaiya premise whereas the city hospital of the College provides bedside learning facility and internships to the students.

NATIONAL MEDICAL COLLEGE

National Medical College was established in the year 2001.

The college aims to produce the most competent and knowledgeable medical doctors and Para-medical personnel for meeting the growing demands of technical manpower of the country in particular and of the ‘Global Village” in general. COLLEGE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE

The International Society for Medical Education Pvt. Ltd, (ISME Pvt. Ltd.) non profit organization had an agreement with Government of Nepa, which was signed on 08h August 1993 to established the College of Medical Sciences at Bharatpur for medical education, promotion of health and training Para-Medical staff in Nepal.

KATHMANDU UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) is an institution established in collaboration between Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital and launched its own constituent MBBS programme in August 2001.

NOBEL MEDICAL COLLEGE TEACHING HOSPITAL (P. LTD.)

Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospitals Research Center Vision & Mission Pvt. Ltd, was established in 2007 in Biratnagar in Eastern Region of Nepal. The college presently has a fully functioning 620 bedded hospital of its own to serve the patients from various communities of Nepal and adjoining India.
